I have divided The Alps, so to speak, into 14 regions. My choice of regions has been determined by the position and number of good roads in the mountains. There are natural groupings, such as in the Dolomites and around Andermatt, and some larger areas where I have arbitrarily made separate areas, such as along the French/Italian border.
