No lights :?:

Sorry missed your reply! Here is another pic with the motor and unpaainted tank mocked up. The frame is basically a big rectangular tubed spine with the motor and gearbox hanging underneath.

Its nearly ready just waiting on oil pump and a few other jobs. Has two projector lights now.

The Guzzi collection keeps growing- Quota 1100 due to arrive in the next few days. It has had a colourful life already and has been toured in North Africa.

While we're looking at Guzzis, this bike pushes SO many of my buttons...

I just wish that there was a reliable dealer within 100 miles of home :(

+1, italians just know how to design stuff so you just must have it. BUT 48hp just isn't enough for the road (IMO anyway). 690 has about 78hp and weighs 70kg less and I can just live with that.

Must confess I recently became a member of the Norwegian Guzzi club  Though happy with 690 for now, I will buy a more powerful bike within a couple of years and my top 3 for now is XJR1300, R1200R and Guzzi Griso. BMW is the most sensible choice...so probably wont be R1200T then :? At the moment XJR is on top but seems like Griso is a very good bike and very cool 8) Though, the classic verison of R1200R with spokes is pretty cool too :?

If you fish, think of it as fishing with light tackle. It's all finesse and technique - no saving yourself with a handful of throttle from a bad corner entrance/exit.

My Yamaha SRX-6 has about 45 HP and is a ball to ride.

Also - there's a lot to be said for a bike that you can ride at full throttle and not get into (too much) trouble.

Of course 48hb is enough for the road, my (or my wifes really) Skoda has less and weighs 6 times as much, came out wrong. Just saying that I think I wouldn't be happy with it. Never claimed I have much finesse...and hate fishing, so I'm the problem not the Guzzi 8)

The 690 worked really really well in Alps as long as you're willing to gear...a lot. Actually been a bit disappointed with it back in Norway. Think because generally more open curves than in Alps in my part of Norway so could trade a bit of that quick response/easy to change lines thing with some stability. Also would be nice with some more push out of fast corners. So what I need is a Superduke :?

But then when we are on really narrow/twisty roads (which we of course have), there's no bike I'd rather have. Guess no bike is perfect for all roads, all conditions and all situations :)

I would go for the XJR, pre fuel injection. You can boost the standard carb models from 104 ps stock, to 129ps. Plus it's easy to change it to make it "your own"
Mind you, some say I'm biase :D
