WHERE AM I ?

General chat, anything goes, off topic. That sort of thing.

Karza hit it - the Serai di Sottoguda.

Alex - I also have video of the complete run that I made in 2003.

When I got back in 2004, there was a sign saying it was closed to motor traffic with a temporary parking area. Since then (2006 - I was hoping that perhaps it had reopened), the parking area has become less temporary. :(

What of IOMROB's? Looks Italianish, but I don't have a clue.

OK, I can see the SS 20 out of Ventimiglia (SS = strada statale in Italy), but where is the D6204 (D roads are in France)?

Sorry I couldn't be more precise about the location of the photo but all I can say is that it was en route from Ventimiglia to Tende. As you said the D roads are in France which is the D6204 or E74 after Fanghetto according to google maps.

Found it, thanks! The D6204 wasn't showing up as such and that is what I was looking for. Funny how the road switches back to the SS 20 on the north side of Tende when back in Italy.

I was also puzzled by D6204. A MapSource search didn't recognise such a road.

The D6204 in Google Maps is marked as N204 (and E74) in TCI- and Michelin maps. N204 in MapSauce, too.

There are two ways about it.

Permission or a very early 6:00 morning drive on a quiet motorcycle.

I've been up and over Passo di Campogrosso from Recoaro Terme to Passo Pian delle Fugazze, but that was with permission...thanks to my girlfriend who lives there.

Another time the Guardia di Finanza let me up the Pfitscherjoch near Sterzing.

Well its a traffic circle with mountains in the background. It looks like Italy. I'm working on it...no tips please unless we've guessed the wrong country.

I am also inclined to say Italy but unsure of where.
The red and yellow flowers suggest Ferrari, as do the flags, but is this significant? :?: :?: :?:

Typically, Ferrari=Modena=flat - the terrain is definitely bumpy.

I believe it's Leone Rampante, the emblem of Valle d'A...a, in the flags. Not the Cavallino. Still got bananas, Iomrob? :D :D :D
