It looks like the top is - up from the Bormio side, but I doubt the eastern ramp is totally free/secured/repaired.

Not for me. I get the old OLN\Versus channel, now NBC Sports, and they do broadcast bicycle racing, but it appears they've opted for the Tour of California instead of the Giro.

You can watch lifestream , like here :

http://sports-livez.com/channel/ch-5.php

This one is in Dutch , but I'm shure you can find something in an understandable language ?
Not that it matters much . You'll recognise it when you see it ..

(they also do Tonale and Mortirolo earlier in the day , but not Gavia )

I think they will reach Bormio around 16.15 local time and the top around 17.15.
Maybe a little earlier .
For USA : 16.30 = 10.30 am eastern time .

If I find better info, I'll let you know .
I'll be up before you guys , so I can post a message sat. morning .

Thanks Ludwig! But I'll be riding around near Asheville, NC tomorrow. Great riding roads in every direction, and it's BEER WEEK there. Ride in the morning, beer in the evening.

:P

Or: The big hand is on 6 and the little hand is on 10.

And it's not dark outside (that would be the other 10:30).

Gimme a break!

Yeah - but that was a Californian - they live in their own little world where reality doesn't intrude.

Watching the climb up the Mortirolo's west side. I really enjoyed that road. Having 1127ccs available added a lot to the enjoyment :D

The lead rider is 14km out. Road (so far) is free of snow.
