Excellent! I just revisited google maps and it's come a long way since I did my prototyping. There are over 200 routes on the site now though so if it starts becoming a drag just give me a shout and tell me what to do. Or do that anyway. I can share the load.

Ah yes - the Beginner's All purpose Symbolic Instruction Code. Back in the days when real men created acronyms!

FWIW my 1979 TRS-80 Model 1 (with 4K of memory (you learned to write tight code) ) had a converted RCA Black & White television for a monitor. None of this fancy Amber or Green crap.

Although, that being said, I believe that I have a "Hi-Res" green phosphor composite input monitor downstairs somewhere.

Along with the first computer that I ever built - when this consisted of buying a bare board from a manufacturer and sourcing an almost infinite amount of resistors, capacitors, sockets, ICs and only God knows what else, and proceeding to fill your lungs with resin smoke and enough lead solder to destroy the reasoning capacity of a host of children.

Probably goes a long way towards explaining my present condition

Well I got to admit the reference to Amber or Green was me trying to appeal to a broader audience.

My first PC was a Texas Instruments model which did indeed plug into the TV set and I recall had a princely 16k of memory. Wow, the things you could do with that!
I calculate I'd need over 300,000 of those old PCs just to contain Windows Vista, let alone start it up

This is like one of those conquest games. We divide up the Alps between us. I already have the French maritime in the works. I think I will tackle the Andermatt and St. Moritz pages next, from scratch instead of importing the routes. I know these roads better than anywhere else so I like to start with that. Fight among yourselves for the other prizes!
