Saint Jean de Maurienne, Andermatt, & Bourg St.Maurice

A couple of good biker-friendly hotels I'd recommend from my trip in June.

Saint Jean de Maurienne
Hotel du Nord Good value 2 star with secure private car park to rear. I was given a double room with balcony overlooking my bike. Good restaurant and bar, and well placed for walking around town. Staff friendly and helpful. 41euro inc. breakfast

Andermatt
Hotel Badus Huge modern rooms with balcony and breakfast for 51euro(not bad for this standard in Andermatt) I was impressed by the owners offer of free overnight parking for my bike in his private garage.

Bourg St.Maurice
La Petite Auberge Quaint 1 star lodging just outside town run by an english couple Rob & Becky. Superb french restaurant. No TV in room but I still got to see that nights England World Cup game in Rob's living room (with free beer)!

I can second the vote for Badus in Andermatt. Last week I paid CHF 85 for B&B, which at current rates is still only EUR 53.

I stayed a night in St. Jean de Maurienne in the St. Georges. Very nicely renovated, electric towel drier, wireless, EUR60 for 2, extra EUR8 per head for breakfast. They have covered parking for bikes though it's not locked up. Very cosy.

In Bourg St. Maurice the Petit Auberge was full, but we found L'Angival very good. Very well renovated, very cosy, friendly and good location just off the pedestrian area downtown. We paid EUR65 for two.

I'd definitely stay in either of these hotels again.
