Ok embarrassed to admit I suggested this area and have not yet taken photos of my Z4.

But how can it possibly compare to Tim/Marks Mazda 323 so ashamed to post pics of silly car with soft roof.

I've never really been into cars apart from the practicality side of them in the winter.......but...... now I have a 1986 2.7 liter BMW 4x4 !!! Yes really >
On the snow and ice it is absolutely amazing and I'm going to go to Flaine next winter and do the ice racing track if anyone wants to come and play !
Sucks petrol tho'. I only use it in the winter (6 months) as I am a ski professional and the rest of the year I use my motorbikes and bicycles.

So looong before X5 of course. 1986 I think they had the new 7-series, but don't think they ever did a 4x4...

The E34 5-series didn't come before 1987..I think. But think they had a E30 325ix4 is that the one

Yea you're right it's the 325 ix.
I found it under a heap of snow outside a Ford garage here in the Chamonix valley and found out the owner of the garage had bought it to go ice racing and had bored out the engine, taken off the ABS (too heavy), rear seats etc, but there is hardly any good quality ice anymore due to the warming and shortening of the winters so it had been sitting idle for a couple of years. I bought it for 1500 ? and then two weeks later bought another one for spares for 400 ? ! The previous owner had as much mechanical knowledge as a doughnut (!) and it's actually in very good condition so I'm in the process of doing it up and then I'll sell it. You interested ? I bet it would be great up there on those twisty snowy Norwegian roads in the winter !!!!!! Got competition Pirelli studded tyres as well !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't get as excited about cars as I do bikes but they can still be fun.

I drive a BMW 123D Coupe M Sport- over 200bhp, top speed near 150mph but 45mpg and only one bracket higher than a Prius on my company car tax due to low emissions.

Don't tempt me Denis But I'm done with old cars (bought my first new car last year at age 40). My previous car was a 1993 BMW 525tds touring, great car but always something.

When I win the lottery I'll buy an M3 and a X6, that should keep me covered:





Cars (big surprise ) are VERY expensive in Norway especially cars like this. Would guess a X6 is close to 200.000 euro, the M3 a bit less

After being off bikes for a fair bit of the year due to a broken foot (from running, not crashing the bike) I put some effort into getting an old car going and a couple of weeks ago managed to get it down to the alps (and back!) without any real problems. First trip out of the UK in 40yrs. Even I was surprised that it didn't come back on a recovery truck.

No, its the previous model, an S4 in SE spec which is about halfway to a sprint.

I've had it since the early 80's (nobody wanted them then and I bought it cheaply) but kind of lost interest and it's been at the back of my garage for 10 yrs after the local vicar drove into the back of it at a roundabout.

Earlier in the year I thought I should get it going for its 40th birthday (mid Aug) and see if I could get it down to our flat in France. Family reasons meant I had to postpone the trip for a couple of weeks so it became early Sept. This was a good choice as the weather was still good but the French holiday season was ending so the roads were a bit easier. After not using it for over 10 yrs I had no idea how reliable it was going to be but over nearly 2000 miles total faults were a fuel hose coming loose - easily fixed with a zip-tie and the gear lever knob coming off when I tried to select reverse once - about half an hour after that picture was taken.
