Link windows

Postby ChrisN » Wed Jun 22, 2011 11:13 pm

Hi Tim,
Since the change of forum engine any posted URL links open in the same window rather than a new one.
This takes users away from your site and is inconvenient if you get side-tracked by other web content and then wish to get back to AlpineRoads, or read the link info alongside.
Can this be corrected?

You want the links to open in a new page?
I don't know if there's an option for that. Might need some reprogramming if that's the case. I'll see what I can do

Maybe a box needs ticking somewhere ?

It will help keep visitors in the forum rather than pass through.

If its a big deal don't worry about it.

Can't find anything during my coffee-break, I'll investigate more when I get home if I get the time.

Right-click on the link and select "open in new tab" or "open in new window".

This assumes a recent release of IE or Chrome. Not sure about Firefox or Opera.

Opera's had that for years, that's why I never thought of it :-)
Still I've had a look for default action but can't find anything.
