Sony Ericsson C702 - Built in GPS, shock and splash proof

Postby pingvin » Sat Feb 28, 2009 11:39 pm

I just bought Sony Ericsson C702 which has Geo tagging. Took a picture outside my house...and it worked, when viewing the picture later on it showed where the picture was taken :)

Also you can send pictures automatically to a blog-site so anyone can see the pictures in the same instant the picture was taken (well, a minute later anyway). I thought also the posistion somehow was included so others could see WHERE the picture was taken, put as far as I can see that's not the case. Maybe a good thing, would almost be to much Big Brother" :?

Haven't tested it as a navigator yet, but was able to make a route (uses google maps). Also the GPS was a bit slow and used a couple of minutes to find my posistion accurately.

Also it is splash and shock proof. And should have a OK camera. A bit bigger than the one I had (Sony Ericsson 750) but still fits in the front pocket of my pants.

Will return when I've tried it out some more.

I believe my iPhone does all that, though I've not read the instructions!

The iPhone is the greatest gadget, and it synchs with my Mac perfectly. I don't know how to use my Mac either, by the way.

I've had Sony Ericsson phones for almost 10 years. So I bought Sony Ericsson again since all menues etc are the same

And the contact list was sent from my old phone in 1 minute (copying from SIM card is a mess, if you have mobile, work and home phone for a contact...it will be 3 contacts when copied into the phone. I'm sure you can work it out dumping it into the PC...but I'm to lazy)

Bet your iPhone isn't shock and water proof though  And I don't have a Mac.

I have my iPhone in a rubberized case, and I'd bet it's still NOT shock proof! I wasn't saying my gadget is better than yours. It's great fun though.

How many gadgets am I allowed to bring?

Can I have some help carrying them?

Will you be providing electricity for multiple battery chargers?

How many kW am I allowed to draw at any one time?

Will you accomodate non-EU plugs, or do I have to provide my own adapters?

Bring 'em on!

Not sure I can do my phone justice...but so far I've managed to:
- Open a blog with my phone
- Sent pictures to the blog by the push of a button
- Navigated from work and home
- Geo tagged pictures
- Made funny faces with the built in face warp program
- Read posts on AR :D
- Made phone calls
- Turned off T9

That's nothing.

I've not tried opening a blog, but I bet I can.
I've e-mailed pictures (but I can't MMS them.)
Geo tagging pictures, I can, but I don't know how. I think.
Face warp, that's SO yesterday; I've got a spirit level, dictionary, learn German application, Google Earth, You Tube, Wikipedia and a drum kit!
I have read posts and posted on AR.
And the spell check thing is better than T9 (and can't be turned off.)
I've got 881 songs (including Frank Zappa) and 131 photos.
AND the camera is a MASSIVE 2 mega pix...
I made a phone call or two as well.

For some reason I don't think the weapons are the major obstacle
